RANDOM INFO
About my Photography & Methods :
I arrange my photography by location and mostly chronological,
because it's easier for me.
Keeping things simple leaves me more time to make more art.
I have crawled in dirt and laid in mucky puddles to get the shot I'm after.
I have far too many times found myself or my gear precariously perched,
it has not always ended well. So I am now more cautious with myself and my gear.
At times I may spend several months planning a project before it's complete.
At other times I work spontaneously.
I work mostly with infrared photography. Over half of my images are infrareds.
I am slow at posting new work to my website and to my social media.
Photographing people :
Sometimes I want faces, sometimes I want anonymity.
Sometimes I want natural light, sometimes I want studio light.
I usually want to collaborate with the person posing.
If I work TF (trading Time For images) with people I anticipate
being able to use shots taken in either art shows or portfolios.
If someone wants to keep the shots private and for their purposes only, my rates are reasonable.
I have a simple Model release that will need to be signed at the end of a session.
Sessions are usually around 2 hours long. (sometimes longer)
I process/retouch my own images to varying degrees.

Self Portraits
I do a lot of self portrait work. To explore photography, to learn, to work on concepts, work on lighting and locations. To tell a story. And also because due to my chronic migraines it is now difficult to coordinate with others to set up photo shoots. Leaving me with me, myself, and I to get a project ideas done.

Do I accept donations or funding?
As of now I have not but I'm a broke artist, so of course I'd love to accept patronage!!
Know someone? :D
I would accept donations of gear, funding, props, use of locations or studio use.
I keep track of everything incoming and outgoing for the IRS.
I don't expect anything of this but for the fun of it...
Wish list:
new camera
underwaterhousing
light stands

Do I teach or mentor?
I am happy to share what knowledge and expertise that I have.
And I enjoy taking photos with others.
My own personal experience with art, photography and modeling is that
you learn through trial and error and experience.
But to be clear there are some thing that I just cannot teach.
Composition is something I cannot teach. I have been drawing and painting since childhood.
My mother was an artist and I was surrounded by art and photographs on my walls since forever.
SO...composition has been trained into me since I can't remember when. It's just second nature to me now.
I can tell you how to best crop an image, and avoid distractions and etc.
But I can't tell you the rules of WHY it works only that it works or doesn't work.

The Hunt for Fabric
For many years I have been searching for the right fabric type and/or dye type to stay black in infrared
or at least stay dark. I have walked through thrift and department stores with my infrared camera to find black. I have walked through fabric stores, willing to just MAKE black wardrobe. nope, unless I want to make it out of PU fabric...
I have experimented with consumer available dyes, and nope.
For any fellow infrared photographers who also were wondering,...
Dylon fabric dye, Rit, and Rit dyemore do not show up in infrared.
I would love to figure it out, but I'm no chemist.
Maybe one day... one day!!
